New physio service launched

By nbpblog

From today, patients in Nottingham will be able to refer themselves for physiotherapy as part of a new pilot being run by Nottingham City Primary Care Trust (PCT). The trial will be run through the PCT Rehabilitation Services for 12 months to assess its feasibility and the benefits of such as scheme.

The new service will enable patients to refer themselves for physio without having to see a doctor first, making life easier and more convenient for patients, whilst freeing up valuable doctors’ appointments.

As long as patients are over 16 and registered with a GP in the city, they’ll be able to access the service by phoning 0115 883 8300 or by completing a form – available from all GP practices and public buildings across the city. The physiotherapists themselves are located throughout Nottingham too, so patients should be able to visit their nearest one.

Hopefully, this new service will be a big help to anyone in need of musculoskeletal physio, so please make sure you pass the news onto anyone you think may benefit. To find out more you’re welcome to give Parul Jani a ring on 0115 979 1234 or alternatively you can contact the PCT direct by emailing suzanne.aitken@nottinghamcity-pct.nhs.ukĀ
