Have your say – get involved

By nbpblog

We’re currently looking at changing the way our organisation works in order to ensure that Nottinghamshire’s many BME communities all have a strong enough voice and a say in the decisions that affect life in the county.

Firstly, we’re holding an EGM on 15 March to put these changes in motion, hopefully enabling us to elect a fresh new board of members at our AGM in April. By inviting new members to join, we hope to improve the service we provide to Nottinghamshire’s BME communities and fully embrace the different needs of minorities – including the county’s refugee and asylum-seeker communities.

Why not get involved? If you’ve an interest in BME communities or in children and young people, crime and community safety, healthcare or volunteering we’d love to hear from you.

For those of you who don’t know, we’re an umbrella organisation that represents, supports and works alongside voluntary and community groups, on behalf of the county’s BME population. We also work very closely with public sector organisations such as the Police, local authorities and the NHS to make sure that Nottinghamshire’s BME communities have a say in the decisions these organisations make. The more that people like you get involved the stronger and more impactful the NBP’s work will become. Plus, of course, this is a truly unique opportunity to have your say in shaping the future of Nottinghamshire.

Be sure to check our blog regularly for further details and please feel free to get in touch with us on 0115 979 1234 if you’d like to speak to a member of our team.
